Montfort School, Yercaud, proudly conducted its Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2026–2027 on 10 June 2026 with great dignity, enthusiasm, and solemnity. The ceremony marked the formal induction of the newly elected student leaders who will shoulder the responsibilities of leadership and service throughout the academic year.
The programme commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Mr. Subhash Chand Meena, IPS, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Salem, who was warmly welcomed by the school management, Principal Rev. Bro. Arockia Sahaya Raj, staff members, and students. The event began with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, during which the National, School and House Flags were unfurled, followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
The gathering then assembled at the school Convention Hall, where God’s blessings were invoked through a prayer service comprising the Bible Reading, prayer, and a prayer song presented by the school choir.
The formal proceedings began with the Welcome Address, extending heartfelt greetings to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, teachers, parents, and students. As a mark of respect and appreciation, the Chief Guest was felicitated by Rev. Bro. Principal with a shawl, bouquet, and memento.
A vibrant Welcome Dance added colour and joy to the occasion. This was followed by an inspiring speech on leadership delivered by Miss Hosanna and Master Antonio, who emphasised the importance of integrity, responsibility, service, and leading by example. The school choir then presented the Academic Year Theme Song based on the theme, “Propel to Procure Prominence,” inspiring students to strive for excellence in all their endeavours.
The highlight of the ceremony was the induction of the newly elected student leaders. The School Captain, Head Girl, House Captains, and Class Prefects were formally invested with badges of office by the Chief Guest and the Principal. The leaders solemnly took the Oath of Office, pledging to uphold the values, traditions, and discipline of Montfort School. The School Medallion was ceremoniously handed over to the School Captain by the Principal, symbolising trust, honour, and responsibility.
The newly inducted leaders received the blessings of Rev. Bro. Arockia Sahaya Raj, who encouraged them to lead with wisdom, humility, and dedication. A delightful cultural performance by the junior students further enriched the celebration.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Subhash Chand Meena, IPS, inspired the students with his life experiences and valuable insights on leadership, perseverance, discipline, and service to society. His motivating message encouraged the young leaders to embrace their responsibilities with commitment and integrity.
The Principal, Rev. Bro. Arockia Sahaya Raj, then delivered his address, emphasising that true leadership is rooted in responsibility, humility, character, and service. He congratulated the newly elected leaders and urged them to become role models for their peers.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Miss Bhargavi, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, the Principal, the management, the staff, the students, and all who contributed to the success of the event.
The students of Class XII A compered the entire assembly and the proceedings of the Investiture Ceremony under the guidance of their Class Teacher, Mr. Deepak C. Thomas, whose meticulous planning and coordination ensured the smooth and dignified conduct of the programme.
The ceremony concluded with the School Anthem. The Investiture Ceremony 2026–2027 was a memorable and inspiring occasion that instilled in the students the spirit of leadership, responsibility, and service, preparing them to lead with vision, serve with humility, and inspire through action.
