On a sunny morning of December 16th, the Vicar General from Rome, Rev. Bro. Pratap Reddy, made an official visit to Montfort School. Accompanied by the Principal, Rev. Bro. Domnic Savio, and other members of the Montfort community, he was warmly welcomed by the School Band. The assembly commenced with a spiritual note, featuring a Bible reading, prayer, and a prayer song, followed by a welcome dance.
The Vicar General was honored with a shawl by Bro. Principal, a floral bouquet by Bro. Arokiasamy, and a memento by Bro. Binu. During his address to the gathering, Rev. Bro. Pratap Reddy expressed his profound delight at being in Montfort, which he aptly described as “A Temple of Learning and a Premier Institution,” renowned for its far-reaching impact. He acknowledged the privilege of carrying the sentiments of his fellow Brothers and the blessings of the entire congregation.
Urging Montfort to embrace its rich heritage and legacy, Rev. Bro. Pratap Reddy inspired the present Montfortians to become “innovative creators.” He shared an inspiring example of a Montfortian school in Madrid, Spain, which, through its innovative approach, developed techniques for social betterment and disseminated them online. These innovative steps garnered widespread recognition and appreciation.
The Vicar General emphasized the significance of individuals with solutions as exceptional leaders, encouraging all to cultivate creativity in their thinking.
On the 18th of December, the Vicar General convened a brief meeting with the staff in the library at 3:45 p.m. He was warmly welcomed and received a shawl and a bouquet from Rev. Bro. Arockiasamy. In his address, the Vicar General extended greetings to the entire congregation and shared personal anecdotes from his early life. He emphasized that the outcomes of his experiences have affirmed that attention, acceptance, and appreciation are the fundamental elements that foster the growth and development of individuals.
Rev. Bro. Pratap underscored the significance of teaching as a “holy vocation” that encompasses the traditional “3Rs” of respect, relationship, and reasoning. He asserted that these principles will facilitate a comprehensive learning experience.
