All true children of God have God as their father and Mary as their mother. – St. Montfort
The feast day of St. Louis, Marie Grignion de Montfort, was celebrated on January 31st. Prior to the feast day celebration, five days of novena were held during the school break. During this time, the staff, students, and Brothers Community came together to organize special prayers, litany, and hymns to honor the Founder of the Brothers of St. Gabriel.
The special day commenced with a solemn procession from the Chapel to the Convention Hall. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Gabriel, a Montfortian during his student days. His homily centered around the theme “I only do God’s will” and spoke on the saint’s service as an educator of children and youth. The Marian devotion was promoted to a great extent by St. Montfort.
Rev. Fr. Gabriel sang a melodious hymn during his sermon, captivating the gathering and bringing down the heavenly presence amidst them. The intercessory prayers included praying for the Gabrielite Brothers, the 10th and 12th graders, the school community, and for the three congregations that St. Montfort had founded.
After a prayerful celebration, the students had a test on St. Montfort to refresh their memories on this great saint. Since all were busy with the rehearsal of Prize Nite, which was to be held the next day, they all became busy for the rest of the day practicing and rehearsing for the grand program.
