The annual House Picnic of Montfort School, Yercaud, was held on 23rd August at the Honey Rock Estate, offering students a much-needed break amidst nature. The day began with a briefing by the Principal, who addressed the students about appropriate behaviour and safety during the picnic. Light refreshments were served before departure, setting a cheerful tone for the day. The senior boys embarked on an energizing 13-kilometre trek to the picnic spot, enjoying the scenic landscape en route. The junior boys and girls travelled comfortably by bus to the estate. On arrival, students were welcomed by stunning views and the fresh air of the hills. After settling in, they engaged in a variety of house-wise games and team activities. The spirit of healthy competition and teamwork was evident as students actively participated and supported one another.
At 1:00 p.m., everyone was treated to a special lunch followed by delicious ice cream, which lifted the spirits further. The afternoon continued with a short hike to nearby viewpoints, where students got to soak in the panoramic views of the Servarayan hills. After the hike, tea was served, providing a quick refresh before the day’s most anticipated event — the Students vs. Teachers tug of war battle. It was a thrilling game filled with energy and laughter, ultimately won by the students, much to their joy. The entire picnic was smooth and comfortable, thanks to the meticulous planning and support of Bro.V. U.Thomas and Bro. Richard. Their efforts ensured a safe and memorable experience for all. As the day came to a close, the students returned to school with hearts full of memories and smiles all around. It was a day of bonding, nature, and joy — one to be remembered.
