September 5th dawned to mark the celebration of Teachers day at Montfort school. The Higher Secondary students of both ICSE and Anglo Indian organized the programme to pay tribute to their teachers who teach them valuable life lessons.
The school band with their majestic beats, led the teachers to the convention hall. The students welcomed them with a tilak, creative bookmark invitation cards and above all, with the invocation of God’s blessings through Bible reading, prayer and a hymn. Thereafter the stage was rocked with elegant and graceful dances performed by the girls and boys. A beautiful poem was dedicated to the teachers which was composed by Ashok Chakravarthy of class XII, was recited as a token of appreciate for all the teachers.
The senior students of ICSE, Master.Amish and Miss. Reshma, addressed the gathering and conveyed their gratitude with their heartwarming words. The students put their efforts to create an adorable and heart touching video presentation dedicated to the teachers. The video was a heartfelt expression of wishing and thanking their teachers from the bottom of their hearts.
A melodious song was dedicated to all teachers. Which was written, composed and sung by Master. Maunzuala and Miss. Reshma Augustine. Miss.Sangamitra and Master.Navneeth the senior students of the Anglo Indian, took their opportunity to thank their inspiring teachers through words of gratitude.
The Principal Rev. Bro. Dominic Savio addressed the gathering with words of appreciation for all the students for their commendable efforts. He acknowledged the significant role that teachers play in the growth of students at all levels of their lives. He stated that only two categories of people genuinely look forward to the development of children – parents and teachers.
The students concluded the programme with a vote of thanks and the school song. Thereafter, the students engaged the teachers in Musical chair, salad making and other entertaining games, through which the teachers were kept refreshed.
After a sumptuous meal, the teachers and students gathered in the volleyball court for further games. Tug of war was conducted between 12th grade boys the male staff. The male staff won the event. Handball match was played between the female staff and 12th grade students, the girl students won the match.
At the end of the day, there was cheer on every face. The students were happy to thank all the teachers who shape them to great heights. With great joy the day’s celebrations come to a closure.
