The National Service Scheme camp for the year 2024-25 took place in Murugan Nagar, Yercaud. The grand opening ceremony was held on October 4, 2024, in the afternoon. It was attended by Bro. Principal, Rev. Bro. Dominic Savio, Rev. Bro. Arokiasamy, and the program officer, Mr. Packiaraj. On October 25, 2024, the cadets engaged in physical exercises and meditation under the guidance of the program officer. They embarked on a challenging journey, walking the entire distance from St. Joseph School, Yercaud, to the Town Police Station. Inspector Vasuki of the police addressed the NSS volunteers about cybercrime and addiction. On October 6, 2024, the NSS volunteers visited Anbu Illam. Rev. Sr. Caroline spoke about the institution and its history. This was followed by a seminar by the resource person, Mr. Ramky, on communication skills. On October 7, 2024, the NSS volunteers visited the Government Hospital, Yercaud. Dr. Kumar Selvam gave instructions on health and hygiene. Rev. Bro. Irudhaya – Michael, the correspondent of St. Joseph School, Yercaud, delivered a speech on leadership qualities. On October 8, 2024, the cadets continued with their physical exercises and meditation. The NSS camp concluded with a ceremony at 1 p.m. The Chief Guest for the function was Bro. Irudhaya Micheal, and Bro. Cruz was the guest of honor. Class XI students from St. Joseph HSS also attended the ceremony.
Principal Bro. expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the brothers, staff, and students of St. Joseph HSS, Susaigiri, for their tireless efforts in organizing the NSS camp for the Montfortians. He emphasized the significance of lending a helping hand to those in need within our society. Consequently, the NSS camp concluded on a successful note.
